On June 1st, 2016, longtime Trenton teacher/coach, Bob Kreszyn moved on to a better place. His 42 years of developing young men in Trenton will never be matched. No doubt Bob has already started coaching! So long my friend, your lessons will live on in all of us!
Thank you...Bob Kreszyn!

by Coach Szalka
If you ask any educator to sum up their teaching career, it is usually told through a series of stories. Once you sift through the comical tales, you are left with a few special events that are permanently etched in the minds of each teacher. In education, we call these “teachable moments”. Often these small pieces of time are not scripted, rather they present themselves…and that’s when life teaches us it's greatest lessons.
Yesterday, such a time presented itself when the Varsity Baseball team visited longtime assistant coach, Bob Kreszyn at his hospice on the campus of Madonna University. He is being treated for squamous cell bladder cancer, a very rare cancer here in the United States. Bob was a special education teacher for Trenton Public Schools for 36 years, retiring in 2010. During this time, Bob dedicated his life to helping the students of THS in a way that few will ever aspire to. Bob may not have held the job titles of the Trenton greats, but his legacy is no less significant.
Bob coached baseball at Trenton High School for 41 years, which is a true testament to his character and makeup. He served as an assistant coach under Pat Bevier, Art Wegienka, Julius Koenigsknecht, Vic Bechard, Bruce Mierkowicz, Al Fernandez, and Todd Szalka. It was Bob’s ability to work with others that allowed him to work with so many different personalities. Bob helped lead the team to a State Championship in 1994. He mentored professional baseball players JJ Putz, Matt Shoemaker, and Anthony Bass, but his impact far outreached THS’s most celebrated alumni. “Daddy” Bob as Vic Bechard called him, was a steady influence on the lives of those he came in contact with. Bob was a celebrity in Trenton, he knew everyone and he knew everything…about Trenton. I often joked with him that it was impossible for somebody to spend as much time at the barber shop and not be a barber. Bob loved Trenton just as much as he loved baseball and his stories were legendary!
Not only did Bob inspire his students, he encouraged new teachers/coaches as a mentor. One of those he mentored was myself. Bob always motivated me to be the very best I could be in the classroom and on the field. He taught me to be prepared when opportunity presents itself. For his impact on my life, there are not enough words of gratitude.
As the players and coaches filed into Bob’s room at Angela Hospice in Livonia, we presented Bob with a signed ball from the team, a new Trenton hat, and the uniform we’ve been longing for him to fill. He soon took on his familiar role of inspiration, and delivered a speech the way only Bob Kreszyn can. As his speech progressed, his tone and inflection became stronger and more recognizable. Bob reminded all of us why we are drawn to the game of baseball, why we play, and the life lessons it instills and reinforces. He stressed the significance of what it meant to wear “TRENTON” across our chests and the responsibility that comes along with it. By the time Bob finished, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. Bob’s last lesson may have been his most significant.
Each player and coach had their chance to say their final good-byes to Coach Kreszyn. As we did we were all reminded how our time here on Earth is never known and that we need to take advantage of each and every day. Today, Bob taught all of us what it takes to be great. And that’s just what you are Bob Kreszyn…GREAT!!!

It was an interesting Wednesday afternoon for our Varsity ballplayers at Gary Szalka Stadium in historic downtown Melvindale. Our Trojans had a 9-3 victory! Stein was 3-3. Chavez had 3 RBIs while throwing 6 strong innings. Nabozny came through with a 2-3 day with 2 RBIs. Giacomantonio had a solid inning pitching. TODAY, Thursday April 16th, weather permitting, we face Carlson home at 4pm. Yes, sports fans, today is a hotdog and hamburger day at the old ballpark. Bring your own dog and burger with you to the game and be admitted free!
2014
6/4/14
We came out flat but still squeezed out victory over Allen Park Inner City Baptist, 3-0 at Allen Park. Regionals this Saturday 10am at Ladywood Field in Livonia. By the way your boy Sol played like one sic dawg, making great catches and throwing out a foolish runner trying to advance to third. See Sol and the other boys of spring this Saturday. GO BLUE!!!
6/2/14
It was show time at the Grosse Isle boathouse. In the meantime, our baseballers took care of business on the beautiful island. We whooped River Rouge 18-1 with Dru and Kaz pitching nothing but strikes. In the nightcap, we got by the islanders 4-0. Slapshot turned in his stick long enough to pitch a sweet one. Saturday, we will play at Ladywood High School in Livonia. Game time 10 am. Get in before dawn the night before and support us. We need to win a couple Saturday. Join us in our quest and believe. Whatever your mind can conceive. You may believe it is possible...believe it!
5/27/14
Friday, we had a mercy vs. Wayne, 18-3. Our record is 25-6. Triple header Saturday at home. Results: Your baseballers took three on Saturday while hosting the second annual Rumble on the River. This event coincided with the Veterans Memorial Day Parade and other city festivities. Dru and Kaz pitched their hearts out to secure victories and the championship trophy. Today, we play Melvindale. A win at our house secures at least a tie for the Downriver League title that Wyandotte so badly wants to take from us. Please come out to cheer our players on to a Trenton win. Come and be loud and proud for your baseball team. We need everyone's support. Thanks!
5/23/14
It was the Grant Dukus show on Trenton soil Wednesday vs. Kennedy. Grant pitched brilliantly into the 7th inning. Two outs, bases loaded, Jerry LaBell comes in to get a fly out to Drew in center. Trenton wins 2-0 and climbs to 24-6. Johnson and Tanguay laid down key bunts. Dukus playing like a man possessed, drives a bases loaded single, scoring our two runs. Tanguay had 3 singles on the day while Murray and Preston each popped singles. Next game is Saturday starting at 10 am another triple header. Coach Kreszyn would rather count fans than sheep, so come on out to the ball park, slap down a couple burgers and dogs and enjoy Trenton baseball.
5/20/14
Our Trenton ballplayers up their record to 22-6 behind the strong pitching of Jerry LaBell. “Slapshot” Dukus had a 3-3 day. Murray went 3-4 with 4 RBI. “5 Hour” Montroy got a bases loaded double 2RBI. “Coke and Poke” Markus made a sweet catch of a soft liner at short. The final score your Trenton Trojans was 8-3 winners over Southgate at home. Tuesday we continue a game in the second inning leading 2-0 vs. Carlson at home. Come watch and let’s break the 200 fan mark!
5/19/14
Saturday, our varsity baseball teammates beat Birch Run and Berkley, but lost to Southfield. We play Southgate on Monday in a big league game. Current record 21-6. Our varsity baseballers won ugly against a pesky Truman team Friday at home.
5/16/14
Our Trenton baseball team allegedly was taken by aliens Wednesday just long enough to allow Wyandotte to beat whoever possessed our Trenton uniforms. Our real deal Trenton boys will be back playing Truman at home Friday at 4pm. Wyandotte 8-, Trenton imposters-1. Remember your ball-gamers play TODAY at 4pm, Saturday a triple header starting at 10 am and Monday at home vs. Southgate at 4pm. Y'all come out and see us...bring a friend or two or three.
5/13/14
Monday's Varsity Baseball game with Carlson at home was suspended in the second inning with Trenton ahead, 2-0, due to a bit of rain. INJURY UPDATE: the baseball team allegedly took preventative action by having Denny bubble-wrapped for his own safety!
5/12/14
Saturday featured our Trenton varsity tri-hosting the cancer classic tournament. We believed! Three games three wins one cancer classic tournament championship. Kyle Kasenow and Ryu Ando combined for a game one win 13-5. Slapshot Sikhs busted a slump with two hits. Johnson continued his fine hitting stroking a couple hits. Murray rapped a hit. La La LaBell got two singles. Finally, Sol Markus poked a ground fuel double. Dru Doree pitched and named a great catch of a pop fly near the Mason dugout. Result: Mercy of Mason 16-4 in five innings. Touchdown Tanguay kept his bunt magic alive. Johnson got another couple hits. "Five Hole" caught and contributed a hit. The championship was a five inning 12-2 mercy of Monroe Jefferson. Cody Montroy became a legend in his own mind by getting 9 RBI in the tournament. The Snake blasted a 342 foot homer, his first of the season. Sol pitched three innings and Sushi Ryu pitched the last two striking out two. Dukus had two hits. Preston, LaBell, and Murray singled. We hope you enjoyed your Mother's Day. Monday we are at home vs. Carlson, 4pm. We are expecting a BIG crowd so get here early and bring a friend. It’s baseball time in the city. Don't let the Trojan freight train pass you by, baby. P.S. Those hot dogs and hamburgers at Saturday's game were so good they almost ate themselves. See you at game time. P.S.S. When you see Kyle Kasenow, shake the "Big Dawg's" pitching paw one time.
5/9/14
Thursday's varsity baseball game vs Allen Park at home featured performing under pressure, pride, and confidence. We won 4-2. Let's see how: First, our friend from across the big pond Ryu, came through under pressure. Just before game time, Ryu had an equipment malfunction. Let's just say his pants were not as zippy as they should have been. As Ryu started sweating bullets, a new set of drawers were found and off he went to his station at 3rd base. Jerry LaLaBell showed the confidence needed to limit Allen Park to two runs while striking out two. We had pride in knowing we would battle. Ryu had an RBI single. Brady not only had a bunt single but made an outstanding diving catch to save two runs from scoring. Finally, old "Five hole" Bondy delivered an RBI single and played well behind the dish. Saturday, you are in for a special treat: a triple header home starting at 10am. Bring some tanning lotion along with some friends.
5/8/14
Look out! Our varsity baseball team squeaked by Lincoln Park on the road yesterday 10-7. Quinn Preston, Drew Johnson, Jerry LaBell, and Cody Montroy led our hitting attack. Brady Tanguay and Grant Dukus bunted sweetly. Ryu (who?) Yes, Ryu singled to right, too. "The Snake" had a nice game catching. Dru Doree pitched some special set-up innings. Denny "Can't find glove, shoes, or socks" Szczechowski found the field in time to get the win. Jerry La Bell took charge in the final inning to assure victory. Thursday game is home vs. Allen Park 4pm.
5/7/14
It was 5-1 in favor of the good guys as our varsity baseball team made it past the warriors of Woodhaven yesterday at their house. "Slapshot Dukus" pitching like a man obsessed, came through with another gem on the mound. He added a single at the plate. "Five Hole" Bondy was zoned out. The dude had a sweet bases loaded bunt. Then, he catches fire behind the plate. He raced over in front of the Woodhaven bench, slid, and made a sic catch. "Touchdown" Tanguay busted out of a slump by laying down two beautiful bunts. Johnson "Shaken-n-Bakin" in center, ran down a wanna-be double. Next game: TODAY at 4:30 at Lincoln Park, Coach Kreszyn and Grandpa Szalka's old hang out.
5/5/14
Prom morning we play Redford Union, home. Garrett Carroll looked like a poster boy for GQ magazine ready to two-step it on the dance floor. Saturday, Prom day 2014, our Varsity Baseball team opened a can of whoopee doo by downing Redford Union 13-7 and 17-1. Brady Tanguay and Jerry LaBell started hitting the ball out of their shadows. Dru Doree got the first win, Kyle Kasenow finishing up. In the night cap, Sol Markus picked up the win with Denny "I'm huge in my sleeves" Szczechowski mopping up the last inning. Monday at Woodhaven - 4 pm start.
3-0 was the score Friday as our Trenton Varsity Baseballers handed Allen Park a loss on their turf. Jerry LaBell pitched a gem...Period. Nick Bondy saved one of his best swings for this game roping a shot to left. Dukus made a fine fielding play at third. The Kyle "Big Dawg" Kasenow played first and scooped a couple. The outfield consisting of "Spaceman" Murray, Drew "Snake-n-Rake" Johnson, and Sol "Choke and Poke" Markus played like a real nice outfield should. It was a great team effort as the bench came through as well, handling all their responsibilities.
5/2/14
Our Trenton Trojans 8-7 winners vs. Lincoln Park at home yesterday. How? Try walk off single in the bottom of the 7th by whom? Quinn "Smooth Runnin Turbo" "Preston" "Baby cody Cougar" Montroy and "Turbo" had great bats at the plate. "Jake the snake" was tough when it counted. Denny "Sleeves" Szczechowski was on base more yesterday than he was playing diaper ball as a one year old. Jerry scooped big-time at first base. Lets talk about "THE BIG DAWG" coming in relief and picking up a win. Kyle Kasenow threw strikes and Boom Boom, It was "sweet turbo" walkin' it off. We play Allen Park TODAY: 2:10. dismissal for our big boys in blue. Also, tip your cap to Drew Johnson. He signed a letter of intent to play ball and attend academics at Marygrove College next year. GO BLUE!!!
5/1/14
Our varsity baseball team lost Wednesday to Taylor Kennedy 2-1 on two unearned runs. Quinn Preston made a couple nice plays. Tanguay helped turn a nice double play. Grant Dukus pitched extremely well. Drew Johnson came within inches of making a spectacular catch in center. Let it also be known that Drew signed a letter of intent to play for and attend Marygrove College. We play Lincoln Park Thursday at home: 4pm. Watch us rebound. Ryu is scheduled to pitch so the Ryu Ando Fando fanatics should be out in full force. Go get 'em
4/20/14
(#1) Whoop, there it is! Our varsity baseballers defeated Southgate 8-1 just before the break. Quinn "Turbo" Preston had a great bunt and "Touchdown" Tanguay added more sweetness. Cody "The Cougar" had bases loaded walk and a run scoring double. Nick "5 hole" Bondy and "Choke-n-Poke" Markus delivered quality at bats. "Shake-n-Rake" Johnson laid out for one in center field. How about Ryu "I really like Sushi" making two solid plays at 3rd. Then, Bam! Grant "Slap Shot" Dukus got his serious on and finished what he started on the mound. Be Trenton Strong. come out this Wednesday at 4pm to fan us on vs. Kennedy...just do it!
(#2) Throughout Trenton baseball history, we have been blessed with many fine pitchers. Think about Ron Little, Jeff Morgan, Jimmy Martin, Nick and Dave Roussey, J.J. Putz, Dave and Anthony Bass, and Matt Shoemaker, to name a few. In today's world, we have Ryu (Sushi Master) Ando, Slapshot Dukus, and Jerry "Pretty Boy" LaBell. Ryu dreams of a day when he can enjoy his Sushi on a small, bite-sized, steamy bun, topped with a hint of mysterious orange sauce. Ryu envisions himself enjoying his meal in a place of solitude- a castle covered in white porcelain tile. Slapshot's wish is that our pitcher's mound could be covered in a sheet of ice. An ice covered mound would be a perfect set up to shoot a ball past a batter with blazing speed. Our Pretty Boy, Jerry, pines for a day when the grounds crew installs a double-decker port-a-potty next to our field. "Build it, and they (fans) will come. Trust me."
4/15/14
La-La Bell was swell yesterday pitching a complete game victory over Truman yesterday on the road. Our varsity busted theirs by a score of 9-2. Scoop LaBell got a couple bis as did Johnson. Choke-n-poke Markus popped three hits. Additionally, Slap Shot Dukus and The Snake Nabozny added base hits. Weather permitting our varsity baseball squad will burst it loose today at home. Game time is 4pm. Dress warm, bring a couple friends, smoke a couple dogs and get a little victory going. Remember to check our Trenton Baseball Website; it's groovy, baby!
4/14/14
Our varsity baseball team came up short Friday at home vs. Wyandotte. We almost staged a comeback in the last inning but came up short leaving two runners on base. Final score 5-3.It was our Trojan varsity baseball team at Dundee for two on Saturday. Our big boys took both games 8-7 and 16-1 to up our record to 6-3 overall. “Big Bubba” Kasenow got the 1st game victory in relief of Solomon Markus. In the nightcap, Cody “Cougar” Montroy got the mercy shortened no-hitter. Funders lonely run came on errors. Next game Truman away at 4pm. GO BLUE!!!
4/11/14
Yesterday, it was Trenton - 2, Grosse Isle - 1 in varsity baseball action played at home. Brady "Touchdown" Tanguay had a nice single. Denny "Sleeves" Szczechowski continued swinging a good bat. Brett Murray got the game winning RBI. Grant "Slapshot" Dukus snagged the game ending line drive with a super catch. Dru "Teddy Bear" Doree pitched an outstanding "A" being complete game to pick up his first varsity win. Next game - Today at home vs. Wyandotte. GO BLUE!!!
4/10/14
On Wednesday, you would have thought Jerry "Scoop" LaBell and Grant "Slap Shot" Dukus combining to pitch a winning game 4-3 against Gibraltar in 8 innings would have been enough. But no – there’s more. Our highlights included Brett "Spaceman" Murray ripping what appeared to be a sure run, scoring double. Alas, the sure double turned into a single after Murray let the chalky line showing him his way to first busted his chops and brought him down. Murray scored a 10 for perfect belly flop. Quinn "Turbo" Preston tried to show that our Trojans were a bit sweeter than the Bad News Bears by making a great over the head catch of a ball heading toward left field. Kyle "Big Dawg" Kasenow added a nice scoop of ball in the dirt playing first. Dukus finished with a key hit and an even bigger strikeout to secure victory. As a final thought, let’s not forget Drew "Shake-n-Rake" Johnson. Our center fielder got a nice line drive single to pump up our offense. Pump him up when you check in.
4/9/14
Our Trenton Varsity baseball team defeated Melvindale yesterday 5-2 at home. "White Castle Ryu" or as he likes to be referred to "Slider" pitched 5 strong innings in a game featured as a continuation of yesterday's rain shortened event. Grant "Slapshot" Dukus finished the game while stranding two runners. Jerry LaBell and Brady Tanguay cracked a couple singles each while Solomon Markus and Jake "The Snake" Nabozny added a single apiece. Today we travel to Carlson for a single game starting at 4:30. Thursday we are back at our crib to play Grosse Ile. Game time 4pm. GO BLUE!!!
4/8/14
Our Japanese friend Ryu revealed one of the secrets to his success. Yes, it is a trip to the Porcelain Palace. Our boy went on a field trip Saturday to White Castle. Yes, Gertrude, and Trenton baseball fans everywhere, our Ryu inhaled 10 cheeseburger sliders at the poor man's Whitehouse. Yes, he recovered well enough to start yesterday's game against Melvindale...and yes our boys had a 3-0 lead until the rain came. No fear. We'll attempt to complete the game today at home. Pack a snack and get ball watching at our house. GO BLUE!!!
4/7/14
Saturday was a cold day to lose 2 for our varsity baseball squad at Dearborn Edsel Ford. The first game featured Quinn Preston and Solomon Markus getting doubles. Ryu Ando got his first hit playing in an American baseball game. Jake (the snake) pounded 3-5. Alias, we lost 6-5. In the nightcap we gave free passes to Edsel Ford and stranded many of our own men on the bases. Brett Murray made a nice catch in left, luckily not beheading Quinn trying to get to the same ball. Solomon Markus finished the game pitching six strong innings. Oops! We lost 7-5. Our record stands at 1 and 2 with our next game scheduled for Monday at home vs. Melvindale. Fans, let’s show up 200 strong tailgate and cheer for our beloved Trojans.
4/3/14
In front of an Opening Day crowd of over 115 people, our Trenton Varsity baseball team defeated Woodhaven 10-4. Jerry LaBell led the way with 3 RBI. Jake (The Snake) Nabozny rapped two doubles. New addition Cody Montroy made a nice catch in right, too. The team had 9 stolen bases. But wait: Knock, knock. Who's there? No silly...not Who...Ryu! Ryu, our foreign exchange student from Japan finished pitching the final innings to record his first American baseball victory. Next is against Lincoln Park at home this Friday. Let’s go for a crowd record. GO BLUE!!!
5/1/12
We all know that something ugly may end up turning into something pretty depending on what time of the day it is. Well, our varsity baseball team led itself down that path Monday. Our Trojans came from behind to down Carlson 9-8 in the last inning. Blake "5 Hole" Wojtala had a hit and sacrifice fly. "Sweet Cheeks" Berger had two doubles and a last inning walk with the bases "juiced" to force in the winning run. Nate "Slick" Donovan contributed a single so did the "Vandyman". "Crusher" Conti smoked a single. Wait, there's more! Guy "E-Z Money" Ellis made a nice diving catch and contributed a double. Aaron "Taylor-Made" Florios's two hits completed our Trojan offensive production. The "Vandyman" picked up the pitching victory in relief. Next game is Wednesday at 4pm at Southgate. Go Get ‘Em, Boys!!
4/30/12
It was all about karma. We traded in Blake "Zoom Zoom" for a more natural "five-hole". Blake almost hit for the cycle. He had a single, double, and triple. Jordan "Da Crusher" smashed a homer and a single. Derek "Sweet Cheeks" Berger continued his fine hitting. Aaron "Taylor Made" Florios had two walks and a sacrifice fly. Wes "McFilthy" Sorenson broke his hitless streak with a single. Brandon "Sweetness" Charping had a long awaited single. Final score 10-3, our Trojans! Vandyman got the win with Donovan in relief. Saturday's tournament was cancelled due to the weather. Now for the rest of our baseball news...Remember Jordan Conti's home run at Melvindale? Anyway, Jordan's brother was sent to retrieve the ball. Over the hills and through the woods he went finally finding the ball. Upon finding the ball, Jordan's brother looked down and said, "What up, Mr. Ball? The ball glanced up and remarked, “I'm a little bruised, but otherwise, fine." Feeling sad, Jordan’s brother suggested to the ball, "I'll make you feel as good as you did before my brother crushed you." True to his word, Jordan's brother took the ball home, eased it into the new Conti hot tub for about 10 minutes, and tenderly removed it. Finally, Jordan's brother rubbed it down with Tiger Balm. Later that evening, Jordan's brother placed the warm ball into Jordan's trophy case where it sits to this day. Remember: Monday, baseball-home against Carlson (the team that knocked us out of last year’s playoffs). Game time 4pm. BE THERE!

Yesterday, our Varsity Baseball team beat Taylor Truman 6-4. Brenden Sall went ya-ya-yard, baby! Our starting pitcher, Dylan Vandenberg got rocked in the coconut with an inside pitch while batting. The Taylor trainer pleaded, “Tell me the story…what happened?” Vandy replied, “Well, I was traveling on the Yellow Brick Road on the way to Oz when Jordan Conti came by and asked if my girl and I wanted to double date - he said he was in my dream just for the double cheeseburger at Mickey-D’s.” Needless to say, the trainer had Vandy sit out the rest of the game with Jordan Conti taking over and securing the victory. The second game of the double dip vs. Lincoln Park was cancelled since it rained a little (and Kevin Bechard’s E-Z Bake Oven could not turn out his treasured mud pie recipe fast enough). They take on Taylor Kennedy tomorrow at Wyandotte. Game time 10:00 a.m. Go Blue!!!
5/17/10
Over the weekend we lost 4-2 against South Lyon, won 10-7 against Fort Wayne Home School, and won 4-3 against Dexter. Alex Bokatzian pitched a great game against Dexter. Ryan Kelley got out of his hitting slump. Brenden Sall hit well during the series and played nice defense. Steve Graham and Blaze Leszczynski are pitching better as shown with their work against South Lyon and Fort Wayne. TODAY we play Taylor Truman at Truman at 3:00 and return home to play Lincoln Park at 5:30. Good luck & GO BLUE!!!
5/7/10
Nine to five the score – the win over Woodhaven yesterday at home. Jordan Conti got his 1st varsity pitching victory, pitching a complete game. Dylan Vandenberg’s mom came up strong by providing birthday cupcakes. Dylan made a nice sliding catch in right too. Jordan Miller hit another “bomb”. Jeff Bryant ripped a double. Ryan Kelley hit the choo-choo out of the ball – right at Woodhaven defenders. Triple header Saturday at Walled Lake Central. First game is 10:30 a.m. Good luck & GO BLUE!!!
5/5/10
Our Trenton Varsity baseball team defeated Melvindale 13-3 at Melvindale yesterday. It was a bittersweet win for Gary (Grandpa) Szalka who coached at Melvindale for 37 years before crossing over to “the real deal” – Trenton. Jordan Miller hit a ball over 3 school buses – too bad it was a foul by 180 feet. Dylan Vandenberg got the win pitching. Miller and Jordan Conti had big RBI producing hits. Brian Pesta had a shot through the middle for a nice hit as well. Brenden Sall was watching worms race by 1st base and almost got picked (luckily his worm won he later reported). Their next game is Thursday, May 6th vs Woodhaven at home. Game time is 4:30. GO BLUE!!!
4/28/10
It was our Trenton Trojans 7, Allen Park 6 in extra innings yesterday at our ballpark. Vandenberg and Miller combined for the pitching victory. Kris (O’ My It’s Gone!) Wilson blasted a homer into straight-away center to tie the game at 6. Then with the bases jammed and the infield playing in, Wojtala hit a grounder up the middle that the Allen Park 2nd baseman could not handle. Trojans win! Next game is Thursday at Southgate at 4:30. GO BLUE!!! REMINDER: TEAM PICTURES ARE TODAY!!!
4/26/10
Saturday, our Varsity Baseball team split a double-header. In the 1st game against Madison Hts Lamphere, we lost on a late inning grand slam. Conti pitched really well. We came close to winning 2-0. Henke, Vandenberg, Conti, and Bryant had hits. In the nightcap, we won 11-4 over Bloomfield Hills Andover. Sall had a hit. Bechard got 3 hits. Miller and Wilson hit homers. Bryant got a couple hits, too. Mr. Conti kept hitting. Bak and Bokatzian did extremely well hitting and playing the field. Next game is Tuesday at home vs. Allen Park at 4:30.
4/23/10
Yesterday’s game vs Taylor Kennedy: Our Trenton Varsity Baseball team 12, Taylor Kennedy 2. Dylan (I’m So Pretty I Could Cry) Vandenberg got the complete game win with 3-4 at the plate. Tomorrow – big tourney at Harper Woods Bishop Foley at 11:00 a.m.. – get there! GO BLUE!!!
4/21/10
Our Varsity baseball team lost 3-1 to Wyandotte at Wyandotte last night. Although our fans came through, we didn’t. Dylan Vandenberg and Jordan Miller had nice hits. Our pitching consisting of Blake “Score-o” Wojtala and Jordan Miller came through with good pitching. The key was we stranded 12 base runners. Next game, Kennedy tomorrow at 4:30. GO BLUE!!! WHITE OUT IN EFFECT!
4/19/10

It was Ann Arbor Huron vs. Our Trenton Trojans in a classic baseball matchup at Huron yesterday. Blake Wojtala and Jordan (A & W) Miller combined for the 7-5 win. Jordan Conti, Ryan (Double Trouble) Kelley, Dylan Vandenberg and Jeff Bryant added key hits. Next game is Saturday vs. Crestwood at home at 11:00 a.m.
4/1/10
Let’s talk about the Bruise Brothers, Kevin Bechard and Jordan Miller. Bechard was 2-4 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI. Miller was 2-2 with a triple and 2 RBI. Dylan (Where’s My Shades) Vandenberg and Blake Wojtala combined to pitch a shut out. Yes, we played Annapolis, and yes, we beat them 10-0 to up our record to 4-0. By the way, the bleacher creatures were out in full force grillin’ and chillin’ in left field. The crowds are growing…see you after break. Be safe.
3/31/10
Just in from Coach Kreszyn:"Yo! Brian Pesta needs a prom date. Check with Brian or send a one liner or less resume to Coach Szalka ASAP. Since Brian is an outfielder, the date requirements are as follows: Must be breathing and able to talk occasionally. On a non-personal note, our Varsity opens it's home season TODAY against Annapolis at 4:00pm. No, Joe Mamma is not pitching!" Good luck & Go Blue!
3/30/10
3 & 0 – this is our varsity baseball record. Guess what? We beat Redford Thurston 11-0 yesterday at Thurston. Blaze (I’m cute, right?) Leszczynski threw a one-hitter. Jordan (Slap Shot) Miller duck-hooked a foul ball off a dumpster, ticking off a few sleeping mice. Other highlights of note: Dylan (Shades) Vandenberg and Kevin (Smooth Move) Bechard both were 2 for 2 with “Shades” getting 3 RBI and “Smooth Move” pushing across 2. Great job – keep it up!!!
